2018 Fall Travel Registration

Dear NASA Travel Parents,

The 2018 Fall soccer registration is now open for travel levels U12 (G6) and U14 (G8).  Please see the NASA web site for age and grade requirements for each level.  All players in grades 5 to 8 will play at the travel level.  The regular registration fee for this year will be $165*. Register by May 7th and receive a $20 early registration discount.  Registering late runs you the risk of rosters reaching their maximum levels and your child being wait-listed. If wait-listed, you will be notified accordingly and your credit card will NOT be charged until a team assignment is made.  NASA’s goal is to assign all registered players to a team and targets 15 players per U12 (G6) team and 18 per U14 (G8) team.

Evaluations for fall travel soccer will take place the week of May 21st.  Players MUST be registered prior to their evaluation day(s).  If a player is not registered, they cannot participate in evaluations.    Travel evaluations serve several purposes.  First and foremost, they are a key piece of data in forming all travel teams for the fall.  NASA seeks to form teams of players with comparable skills and development as well as place these teams in groups within Essex County with similar skill level.  Second, evaluations also feed into forming the 8 all-grade select teams (5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls).  Players who do not attend evaluations and do not have an excused absence (approved by the Travel Directors) prior to their evaluation date, are not eligible for the all grade select team.  Please see the updated Travel Team Policy on the NASA website for complete details.  A follow up email will be sent with more details on what is needed and expected at evaluations.

ECYSA has published a ruling that now allows dual rostering in all age groups. The dual rostering means that a player can play for a maximum of two teams provided that:

a. Only one team is playing towards MTOC eligibility.

b. Only one team is playing towards National Cup eligibility.

c. Only one team is playing towards State cup eligibility, regardless of state.

Basically, they cannot compete on two teams that are eligible for the same end tournament, be it MTOC, National Cup or State Cup.  If you want to learn more about this ruling, please go to ECYSA’s website and search on guidelines.

To register, please Ctrl-click on this REGISTRATION LINKto enter the NASA website. Your child’s credentials will be sent to you at the bottom of this e-mail.  If your child plays on another club team, please do not use the club’s login credentials to register your player with NASA.  NASA players who are affiliated with other clubs that use Gotsoccer must register with a unique NASA account.  If the club account is used to register with NASA, we will need to reject the registration and process a refund, requiring the need to re-register.

Mass Youth Soccer Coaching certifications

There are several upcoming MA Youth Soccer Coach certification courses in 2018. In particular, over this Winter, MYSA will make available both 4v4 (GK age group) and 7v7 (G2 and G4 age groups) sessions. Our hope is to have North Andover host one session of each class prior to the Spring season. If you are interested in attending a 4v4 or 7v7 face-to-face session please respond me, Dave Parsons, at If we have enough interested in attending, I will begin the process of requesting a session in town. Even if North Andover cannot host either of the sessions, the website below will provide other locations where sessions are available.

There will also be 9v9 and 11v11 courses available, however those can only be offered outdoors or in large indoor facilities, and so North Andover would not be able to hoist either of these. I do not expect any to be offered prior to the snow melting, but check the website if you are interested in one of those courses.

More details about all four courses can be found at this link:

The costs per course as face-to-face session are:

Course Pricing per Registrant*

US Soccer 4v4 License - $50

US Soccer 7v7 License - $50

US Soccer 9v9 License - $50

US Soccer 11v11 License - $50

You would pay the fee up front, but North Andover Soccer will reimburse you for the course fee once you complete the course and provide the passing certificate.

There is also an on-line option, which would be $25 per course, but these will not be made available until late Spring.

Thank you,

Dave Parsons
